André Lopes Nunes is a Brazilian photographer and architect based in Madrid, Spain. Originally from Santa Maria do Suaçuí, a small village from the hilly state of Minas Gerais, André began his photography career in 2007 on a journey through the Andean highlands of Peru and Bolivia. He conducted a photography workshop at the Federal University of Lavras and created his portfolio exploring cities and natural sceneries where he had the opportunity to portrait several people in more than 40 countries, such as the Himba and the Bushmen in Namibia, the nomadic Bedouins in the deserts of the Middle East, the Masais in Tanzania and a wide variety of Andean people. In addition to being a photographer, André is an architect and urbanist graduated at PUC Minas and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC Barcelona).
